Shuo Wen Jie Zi (Annotations of Chinese Characters), 15 juan
Written by Xu Shen (ca. 58-147) of Eastern Han Dynasty; collated by Xu Xuan (ca. 917-992) of Song Dynasty. Changshu Jigu Ge Edition in late Ming Dynasty.
Shuo Wen Jie Zi was written by the eminent literatus Xu Shen of the Eastern Han Dynasty. It is the first genuine Chinese dictionary. Since the late Ming Dynasty, the Jigu Ge Edition had become the definitive edition of Shuo Wen Jie Zi and played a very important role in the dissemination of this work.
