Manchu was the "official language" of the Qing Dynasty. The Imperial Patent of Nobility is a kind of document used to award officials or their families in the ancient times of China. This patent was written in Manchu and Chinese scripts from both sides, dated and sealed in the middle. It was presented to the parents of Yulin in the 4th year of Jiaqing Period (1799) in recognition of the achievements of Yulin, a Qing minister who died in 1833.
