Italian and Latin
Italian is a Romance language of the Indo-European language family that evolved from Latin. Italian is an official language in Italy, Switzerland, San Marino, and Vatican City.
Latin is a classical language belonging to the Italic branch of the Indo-European languages, widely spoken in ancient Rome. Although Latin is regarded as a dead language in the modern world, Latin is still used by Roman Catholics in formal meetings and Sunday rituals. In addition, Latin is still taught in universities in the Western world.
